8 Mother’s Day Pastries To Show Moms Our Sweet Love

These edible love letters not just evoke emotions but also satisfy appetites.

Yes, a cake is primarily a dessert. But on many special occasions, it can also be something else. It’s an inaudible, edible gesture that speaks volumes as it carries with it the thought that you care or somebody is seen. It can also be a celebration for someone’s being. This Mother’s Day, let these pastries to deliver that message for you. Crafted by some of the country’s most talented bakers, these eight have been specially crafted just for the occasion. 

24-Carat Cake by Homemade by Roshan

No stranger to many best pastry lists is Homemade by Roshan, who many have relied on for special occasions, Mother’s Day included. The name of her latest confections a play on both carrot and gold, referring to the golden color of the lemon curd and the precious metal to symbolize the value of moms in our lives.

“Carrot cake is one of our bestsellers, and is a favorite of my own mom. And I have always put a bit of lemon in our frosting as it goes so well together,” says homemaker Roshan Samtani. “So I wanted to combine it with another bestseller—our lemon torte. Our lemon curd always gets us a lot of great feedback from them as being so tart and refreshing. I tested this combination with a group of mom’s friends and they loved it.”

Mango Meringue Bloom by Kumori

Taking advantage of the season is Kumori, which turns to mangoes (they are at their peak sweetness during summer) for their limited edition cake. Inspired by the elegance of a blooming tulip, their Mango Meringue Bloom is a delicate composition of airy meringue layers, velvety cream, mango bits and roasted cashew nuts. It’s a pretty light pastry but not in flavor and satisfaction, much like the people it is dedicated to—moms who exude grace amidst pressure.

Miel by Flour Pot

Rhea Sycip’s mom’s day masterpiece may look simple but slice it open and it will reveal the amount of hard work that actually went into it. A fitting “thank you” and payback to the backbreaking labor of our mothers is Flour Pot’s Miel, a 15-layer honey cake. Reminiscent of Russia’s classic cake, Medovick, where each caramelized honey cake sheet has been lubricated with dulce de leche and sour cream frosting, making sure that it eats moist and the flavors are balanced. Squiggles of whipped cream and edible flowers make for its crowning glory.

Toasted Coconut Cream Cake by The Manila Baker

The Manila Baker hits three birds with one stone by releasing a cake that not only helps celebrate our mothers’ special day and the summer season, but also a product that has long deserved to be on the spotlight—coconut! In creating their version of the ultimate coconut cake, they have lodged a delightful coconut cream filling in the middle of chiffon cake, covered it in whipped cream frosting then dredge the whole pastry with toasted coconut flakes.

Lavender Lily by Butternut Bakery

Can’t decide between flowers or cake to give mom? Butternut Bakery gives you not one, but two options to gift her both. For the special occasion, they rely on the comfort familiarity brings, akin to the quiet acts of thought and care mothers provide their loved ones. They have two signature 6-inch oval cakes to choose from. The first is called Rose Pink, which dresses the classic carrot cake in blush tones and floral piping, while the other is Lavender Lily, an ube cake that’s designed with soft lilac hues and intricate buttercream details.

Buko Pie by Bbakery

Offering an equally decadent alternative to the wide array of cakes available is BBakery, which comes in with a pie entry. Their take on the well-loved buko pie is refined, using four coconut components to produce every order. First, coconut meat is cooked in buko juice and gata for the custardy filling. Like our moms, this cake is multi-layered, with each surface significantly contributing to the overall flavor and texture. The 2025 tiramisu continues to date with restaurants and pastry shops serving their delicious iteration of the Italian dessert. The latest to join the bandwagon is cheesecake favorite, El Born where they gathered homegrown ingredients and used them to do a delicious version. Their cheesecake uses cacao tablet from Davao, mascarpone from Bacolod, and coffee from Baguio. The result is an indulgent treat that’s been synonymous to the brand.
