Meet Flourish, Kapitolyo’s New Wellness Cafe

The new cafe serves everything from chestnut lattes and electrolyte drinks to hearty meals—all without making healthy living feel performative.

Somewhere along the way, establishments turned wellness into an aesthetic.

Order at a counter and you’ll probably be greeted by buzzwords like clean, guilt-free, superfood, or organic. Their branding will probably lean earthy, with a minimal typeface, and a caricature of the Earth giving a thumbs up. It’s as if every touch point is a reminder that you’re making a healthy choice.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with that. But sometimes, the wellness aspect is nothing more than just branding—that’s why Flourish in Kapitolyo caught me off guard.

Inside Flourish, Kapitolyo’s New Wellness Cafe

When I visited, the cafe wasn’t particularly busy. A few tables were occupied by people dining, someone was in the middle of an important call, and another guest had their laptop open while sipping on an aromatic cup of coffee. It felt like an ordinary weekday afternoon in any other cafe.

The space itself is larger than expected, and although parts of it are still under construction as of writing, it already feels comfortable enough to spend a few hours in. For something marketed as Kapitolyo’s first longevity market and cafe, nothing immediately screams ‘wellness.’

Only after spending more time inside did I notice the shelves lined with protein powders and supplements. It felt like a natural extension of the menu, which pairs specialty coffee with functional drinks, hearty meals, and lighter, health-conscious snacks. Everything fits together without any one element overshadowing the others, making it feel less like a wellness concept and more like a cafe that happens to care about what we put inside our bodies.

What to Order at Flourish: Functional Drinks, Coffee, and More

I’ve never been to a cafe that offered an electrolyte drink, so I was naturally drawn to the Coconut Mango Electrolytes. Judging by the name alone, it sounded like the kind of thing you’d encounter on a beach somewhere during an especially hot day. And while it was a gloomy afternoon on my visit, it still lived up to expectations. The coconut gives it a light, clean finish, while the mango brings a bright, but subtle sweetness that keeps it fruity without ever tasting artificial or sugary. It’s refreshing in the way fresh buko juice is: easy to drink, thirst-quenching, and something I found myself finishing much quicker than I expected.

Then came the Mont Blanc, a rich creamy latte. The thick layer on top was the first thing I noticed, leaving a white, little mustache on my upper lip after every sip. Beneath it, though, the espresso added just enough bitterness to keep the drink balanced without overpowering the creaminess.

For something savory, their menu offers enough variety to suit whether you’re dropping by for a snack or staying for a proper meal.

I ordered their KFC Cauliflower. Golden and crunchy on the outside, tender and almost fluffy on the inside, it’s the sort of dish that makes you forget you’re eating cauliflower—not because it perfectly imitates fried chicken, but because it’s delicious on its own.

They also offer rice bowls and wraps. A protein-packed option is the Creamy Pesto Chicken which has juicy cuts of chicken, mushrooms and pickled cherry tomatoes, served over basmati rice or wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla with lettuce. For plant-based diners, their Homemade Falafel is a promising option. Served with roasted vegetables, pickled onions, almond pesto, and toum, it’s available as either a rice bowl or wrap.

Why Flourish Is Worth Visiting

The more time I spent at Flourish, the more I realized that the wellness aspect wasn’t trying to steal the spotlight because you could easily come here for a good cup of coffee and leave satisfied. You could also drop by for lunch, pick up an electrolyte or protein drink, browse the supplements then head home.

Rather than fully turning wellness into its identity, Flourish treats it as part of the everyday cafe experience. Their specialty coffee receives as much attention as the functional beverages, the protein powders sit comfortably just a few feet away from the pastries and desserts, and the healthier choices don’t ask for special recognition. They just exist alongside everything else.

Wellness may have grown into a buzzword, but Flourish reminds you that it doesn’t have to feel like one. Here, it isn’t treated as a trend or a talking point—it’s the foundation of an experience that encourages better choices without ever making them feel like a chore.

Flourish is located at 11 Brixton St, Kapitolyo, Pasig.
